Pudi Boutique Fuxing Park Hotel Shanghai China
Pudi Boutique Fuxing Park Hotel, 99 Yandang Road, Xintiandi & Huaihai Rd, Shanghai, China

Pudi Boutique Fuxing Park Hotel Shanghai China Location:

The PuDi sits on the northwest corner of Fuxing Park, peering down over the Yandang Lu pedestrian street, 200 metres from the heart of Huaihai Lu, and a 10-minute walk to Xintiandi.  If you’ve eaten at Colorful Hotpot or clubbed at Volar, then you’ve been to the PuDi’s ground-level complex: the hotel is set in a charming, low-rise, Art Deco building above those venues.  In short, the location is about as good as it gets for a Shanghai hotel.

PuDI Boutique Hotel – Fuxing Parc Shanghai
Yes, that’s “Parc” with a French “c”, courtesy of the Accor group which is at the helm of the PuDi, the “first internationally managed boutique hotel in Shanghai”.  But what’s it like?  Talk took a look…

Pudi Boutique Fuxing Park Hotel Shanghai China Characteristics and Facilities

Pudi Boutique Fuxing Park Hotel Shanghai China Facilities & Services:

Views: The panorama from the PuDi Boutique Hotel takes in French Concession roofs, shoppers on Yandang Lu, leafy Fuxing Park, and Shanghai’s incomparable skyline rising in the distance in every direction.  Level8 has two terraces including a Jacuzzi and some delightful al fresco drinking and dining spots, including a few interesting Art Deco flourishes such as the plush ostrich-leather chairs in the ‘Xizhao’ Cigar Bar.

Art: Here’s a unique twist: if you like the paintings of sculptures you see in your room, buy them.  The PuDi has a Strong focus on Chinese contemporary art, evident from the minute you walk into the lobby which is book-ended by two striking canvasses.  Another arty touch: separate floors of the hotel have dedicated theme colours, chosen from a variety of soft pastels.  Soft lighting behind funky fish tanks and along hallways reflects the theme.

Pets: One of the quirkier aspects of this hotel is that pets are welcome, a feature you find all too rarely in Shanghai establishments. (The tone is hinted at by the resplendent fish take in the lobby).  We’re not sure if you could drag a collection of enormous, slathering St Bernards into the place, but certainly there are two specific rooms set aside for guests with furry friends, with special beds, bowls and other facilities available.  Pets cost RMB 300 a night.
